Devogs (updated)

So I found these recently. Forgot I had the design until two days ago! Anyway, they were an idea for a new story with another alien I already had, but today I developed a lot for them in the Terr universe so I guess they stay there now. 


Toxin (Example B)
They are native to and exist solely on the Bosh's originating planet. Bosh, as well as many other things on the planet, are allergic to their toxin. The toxin comes from their stomachs and is basically throw up. It gets the color from what they eat. For example, if one eats a lot of blueberries, the toxin will be blackish purple, and if one eats the blood of a human it will be the color of blood. (They only eat berries and tiny bug like animals. Don't worry.) It is thick and sticky; very similar to yogurt. They cover themselves and packmates in the toxin as well as pretty much everything in their territory. 

(Example C and D) They have a "queen" or "leader." There is only one at a time and when they die, another member transforms into the leader. The changes are controlled by hormones and are visually just more petals and doubling in size. The queen is the only one who produces eggs, but they do so at an alarming rate. Many eggs don't ever hatch and many babies die off quickly. Other than the queen, every devog is unisex and won't produce any kids unless they eventually become queen. 

They live in groups of twenty or more. Usually. 

(Example A) They each have six, bright yellow eyes that circle their three part beak. No tongues. 

At the back, they are six inches tall and at the head they are an entire foot tall. (on average) 

It helps to think of them as a mix between bees, dogs and flowers.

More about their relationship to bosh: The bosh are not afraid of Devogs, but they definitely do not enjoy their company. Neither species goes out of their way to harm the other, but if a bosh thinks they can prevent and infestation by killing them off, they won't hesitate. Otherwise they avoid the possibility whatsoever. They do this by living directly above water, which Devogs hate. Bosh don't like water either, but they are taller and can wade through it, whereas devogs would definitely drown. lol
